Week1-2 Visual Experiment1

Waiting

After visiting the exhibition of contemporary arts, I found that it is full of visual power to use watercolor to mimic the traces of ancient or vintage.

And then, I quickly went to buy watercolour and did some experiments about the spread of the watercolour and how to visualise poems into shapes that could convey the emotion of the poetry.

I first choose one of the most famous poems by  Tagore as the experimental material.

You can try listening to this poetry recitation while watching my visual experiment. I listened to the recitation of this poem over 60 times while making this first version. Although obviously, I was not very satisfied with the results of the first version due to unfamiliarity with its operation.

I extracted the punctuation marks and the number of words in the poem and tried to make connections between them and the graphs. I tried to create a new language out of them. But the way of this language is still very limited.
